Sierpe River serves as the entrance to the largest River reserve in Latin America. The Terraba-Sierpe National Wetlands is situated where the mouths of the Sierpe and Terraba rivers meet and is home to some of the biggest Rivers in the world. Also the habitat for an extensive array of indigenous animals, birds and reptiles including turtles, spoonbills, crocodiles, monkeys, herons, kingfishers, caimans and frogs, these wonderful wetlands are an amazing place to tour, and are a must-see when in Sierpe.

Fishing at Sierpe River
It's a big, quiet deep river that has an abundance of animal and plant life. The shore mainly consists of Rivers or the local Lirios and Platanillas. As you can see, the area is ideal for the habitats of young and old fish, many shrimp and crabs, as well as many others that are part of the food chain.
In the river, the common types of fish are River Snapper, Snook, Corvina, Grouper and Machaca among others
That fishing is much better when the tide is low, that's why the tour lasts no more than 6 hours.
